Privacy policy

This policy covers the Store Inspector Chrome extension and the sellscope.app website, operated by Sellscope (“we”). In short: the extension analyzes pages locally in your browser and does not collect your browsing history or personal data.

What the extension does

When you click the Store Inspector icon, the extension reads the page you are on and that store’s public catalog (for example /products.json and its best-selling collection page). It shows the results to you in the popup. The analysis runs entirely on your device.

Data we collect

• Browsing data: none. We do not record, transmit or sell the pages you visit or the stores you inspect.
• License key (Pro users only): when you activate Pro, your license key is sent to our server, which checks the subscription status with Paddle. This happens at most once a day.
• Purchases: checkout is handled by Paddle.com, our merchant of record, which processes your name, email and payment details under its own privacy policy. We receive your email and order details to provide support and manage your subscription.

Data stored on your device

The extension uses Chrome storage to keep your license key, your daily free-plan counter and the list of stores you choose to track (with the product IDs already seen, so it can detect new ones). This data stays in your browser. It syncs through your Google account only if Chrome Sync is on, and you can delete it by removing the extension.

Permissions

• activeTab & scripting: to read the store page you are viewing, only when you click the extension.
• storage: to save the settings described above.
• alarms & notifications: to check tracked stores periodically and notify you of new products (Pro).
• Optional site access: requested only when you track a store, and only for that store’s website, so the extension can check it for new products in the background.

The website

• Shopify theme detector: the store address you enter is sent to our server, which loads that store’s public pages and returns the result. We don’t store the addresses you check.
• No trackers: the website uses no analytics, advertising or tracking cookies.

Sharing

We do not sell or share personal data. We use no analytics or advertising trackers in the extension or on the website.

Our use of information complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
