How to see any Shopify store's best-selling products
Shopify lets every store sort its catalog by “best selling”. That sort is public, so you can see a competitor's top products in their real sales order.
The manual way
- Take the store's address, for example example.com.
- Open example.com/collections/all?sort_by=best-selling.
- The products now appear from best to least selling. Add &page=2 to see more.
This works on most Shopify stores. It also works on any collection, for example /collections/mens?sort_by=best-selling to find the best sellers in one category.
The one-click way
Store Inspector reads the same ranking and shows the top 5 best sellers with prices and images, and the top 50 with Pro. It also shows when each product was added, so you can spot fresh winners and not just evergreen products.
How to read the ranking
- New products high in the list are breakout winners. Check how recently they were added.
- Discounted products at the top may be selling on price. Compare the price with the compare-at price.
- Bundles in the top 10 are a sign the store pushes average order value.
FAQ
Is the best-selling order real sales data?
Yes. It is Shopify's own best-selling sort, based on the store's sales. It is a ranking, not a sales count, so it shows which products sell most but not how many units.
Why doesn't it work on some stores?
A few stores remove the 'all products' collection or use a headless storefront. In those cases the best-selling sort isn't exposed publicly.
